Terms
Terms of service
Effective April 18, 2026
These are Dora Health's current terms of service. We're not yet operating at scale and these terms will evolve as the product matures. If anything here is unclear, email legal@dorahealth.ca.
These terms govern your use of the Dora Health app, website, and any associated services (together, the "Service") provided by Dora Health Inc. ("Dora", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
01Acceptance of terms
When you create an account, tap "Accept", or use the Service in any other way, you are agreeing to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
02Description of service
Dora Health connects you to your family doctor's clinic. We let you view, translate, hear, and share your own health information — lab results, medications, appointments, and related records — pulled from your clinic's electronic medical record system with your consent.
The Service does not replace your doctor. It helps you understand the information your doctor already has.
03Eligibility
For v1, the Service is available only to:
- Residents of Canada.
- Individuals 18 years of age or older, or minors with documented consent from a parent or legal guardian.
- Patients whose family doctor's clinic has enabled Dora as a patient engagement partner.
04Account registration
To use the Service you must create an account and verify your identity via phone number. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
Notify us immediately at security@dorahealth.ca if you suspect your account has been compromised.
05Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Access any account or data that is not yours.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract source code from the Service.
- Use the Service to transmit malicious code, spam, or any unlawful content.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise collect data from the Service without prior written permission.
- Use the Service to provide medical advice to others as if you were a licensed practitioner.
06Medical disclaimer
Dora provides health information, not medical advice. The Service helps you access and understand your own medical records in the language of your choice. It does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. It does not replace your relationship with your doctor.
Always consult your doctor before starting, stopping, or changing any medication or treatment. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.
07Payment
Some parts of the Service are free. Others — such as on-demand sick notes, advanced family-account features, and future subscription tiers — carry a fee. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars inside the app before any charge is processed. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. Dora does not store your card details on our servers.
08Intellectual property
The Service, including its code, design, content, and trademarks, is owned by Dora Health Inc. and protected under Canadian and international intellectual property law. You may use the Service only as permitted by these terms.
The personal health information in your account is yours. You grant us a narrow license to store, process, and translate it only for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
09Termination
You may close your account at any time from inside the app or by emailing support@dorahealth.ca. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
When your account is closed, your personal health information is deleted in accordance with our privacy policy.
10Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dora Health Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amounts you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Any dispute arising out of or related to these terms or the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
12Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the Service evolves. We'll post the updated terms on this page with a new effective date. For material changes, we'll notify you inside the app and by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
